Beer & Beadz – September 2013

This months B&B was at Kirsten’s new studio.  She has a great setup in her garage.  There is lot’s of room to move around and she has beads on display everywhere you look.

The turn out was awesome and included a new face, one of our latest new members.

The theme was “old” & “medieval” so participants for the bead exchange brought their rendition of that style of bead.

Kerry Caron demonstrated her style of “old” beads which is made using baking soda.  The bead is rolled in baking soda and returned to the flame to eventually give the bead a pitted look kind of like lava rock.

the Reach Gallery

the Reach GalleryThe Reach Gallery Museum in Abbotsford celebrated their 5th Anniversary with a swanky summer soiree.  The date was September 14, 2013.

The Pacific Pyros were invited to demonstrate glass bead making as part of the evenings entertainment.  We previously had our beads and jewelry on display in their gallery so to be invited back was a big deal.

Ania and Alicia spent the evening demonstrating the art of glass beadmaking.  Along with their demonstrations they also made sales and answered questions about glass beadmaking.

The music and atmosphere of the gallery was incredible and the food was lovely.
