for the 2nd annual
for the 2nd annual
Our first annual “wearable glass art” show and sale was held at the Tabula Rasa Studio beside the Terminal City Glass Co-op. The show was open from noon – 6 pm and the space looked and felt great with 18 glass artists participating. We had coffee, cake and cookies along with hourly gift draws of donations from the participating artists.
The beadmaking demos by Janice Blair, Melanie Graham, Diane Thompson and Melanie Rowe had customers mesmerized for hours.
While we only had a budget for minimal advertising, we did manage to bring in 100+ customers. Thank you to everyone for passing the word. In 2016 this event will be at a different time and venue and more artists will be able to participate. More details to follow later ….
Thanks to all who participated and to the customers who came in to support our first annual event.
Our annual Pacific Pyros Christmas party was again hosted again by Kerry and her husband Steve. Each year Kerry opens up her home for this event and 15 – 20 of us bring snacks, beverages, beads to trade and a gift to exchange.
This year the gathering was a little smaller but we all still had a great time. The gift exchange, which is a pick & steal format, was a blast. The most sought after gifts were one of Melanie’s glass faces and a beautiful fused glass plate.
Thanks again Kerry & Steve for hosting this year. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to everyone. We hope to see you all in 2016.
Novembers B & B was hosted by Susan Otto-bain. She opened up the “Tiki Hut” and her studio where several of us enjoyed hot appetizers and a glass of wine.
Susan demo’d her new Jool Tool equipment. This is a great piece of equipment if you want to clean up your bad bead ends or carve or facet your beads.
Before leaving I like to get a group picture of all the attendees so we tried our hand at a group selfie. What fun! Unfortunately my arms are too short for this function and trying to get us all in turned out to be a bit of a challenge.
We look forward to seeing more of you out to the next B&B at Kerry’s house. For details check out the last newsletter.
