We had a very good potluck supper.
Heidi, our hostess, opening one of the auction
treasures, and Ania.
Elizabeth and Heather. What do we have here?
Tamara opens her gift.
Maria gets to open more than her share of
presents - they keep getting stolen!
Susan likes this one, however she doesn't
get to keep it.
Just enjoying the cozy room.

Heidi's pyro puppy.
Right: Tor and Peter rabbit (who lives
outside - he's huge).
After opening the auction treasures, and dinner,
we retired to the studio.
Heidi's studio
Her new ventilation system.
Ania will show us a raku bead.
She picks up the raku frit, drags it with
her rake, and ENCASES it. I know we've been told not to do that,
but she says she has had no problem with cracking.
They really want to see what's happening with
that finicky raku.
Here's an example of the finished product.
The raking really accents the color shading.
Tamara is asked to demo the Christmas tree
hearts that she made for the auction.
She shapes the heart bead.
Applying the "angel" wings.
The finished bead - of course it's still hot,
that's why the red looks black.
Kerry Caron, "relaxing".
Heidi asks her to show us her dancer beads.
She makes a flat tab bead and adds one large
and one small dot of color.
She then rakes the large dot with the pointed
end of the rod, ever so delicately.
Oops, almost forgot to put in the moon.
They end up like this. She calls them her
Moondance Beads. Thank you Kerry, they are quite magical.
