Here we are enjoying stories about our adventures
into the glass world.

Our demo started off with Kerry showing us
an "imploded" or "inside out" bead. She starts
off heating up a clear rod
Next Kerry begins winding a disc onto the
mandrel. You'll notice Kerry is using a hot head torch.
Straightening the edges of the disc with mashers.
Kerry now adds dots of colour to one side
only of the disc.
More Dots
Using alternating colours
Once all the dots are added, start heating
the disc.
You will notice the disc is starting to form
a ball, surrounding the coloured dots.
Eventually a round bead is formed, the clear
enveloping the coloured dots.
After adding a wind of colour to one end of
the bead, you have the finished product - beautiful! Thanks Kerry,
good job!!
Next, Joanne was testing a new tube of glass.
She heated one end until she had a gather. Here you see her blowing
into the tube, to expand the gather.

After applying some coloured dots, Joanne
punties up to one end,
heats the ball , and gently starts to
pull

Joanne melts off the original tube and works
the opening into a smooth hole.
After adding handles and removing the punty,
you have a really nice vessel. Sorry, no picture of the finished
product but you can be assured Joanne did a great job, as always.
