Here's Ania, Karla, Allie and Elizabeth checking
out Ania's studio and all her fabulous beads and jewelry.
|
Kerri Fuhr gave a talk on marketing your lampwork
and jewelry. She gave us some really great tips. Thanks Kerri!
There may an additional scheduled event coming up where we will
bring Kerri back for those who missed it. |

Ania hooking up her minor (for the first time).
Putting hoses (T-Grade 1/4 i.d.) on the torch with hose clamps.
Your hose may come with brass fittings on both ends, just simply
cut off one end with a razor knife to attach to the torch. |
Attaching the gas flashback arrestor to the
regulator then the red gas hose.

 |
|
Now the regulator to the propane tank. Making
sure everything is really tight so no leaks. There are products
you can buy to spray on your connections to check for leaks but
dish soap with a little water works too. |
Close up of the torch securely fastened to
the table with C-clamps. A good option if you don't want to screw
it into your table.

The ever popular oxygen concentrator! A
great alternative to tanked oxygen. Simple to attach as the green
oxy hose has a standard fitting that just screws onto the oxy
con nozzle. No flashback arrestor or regulator required. Remember
not to run your oxy con full blast - 4.5L only as leaving it
up at 5L can reduce the life expectancy.
Another tip: don't leave your oxy con running
and the oxy knob on your torch shut off for any significant period
of time. Pressure can build up the machine possibly damaging
it. Most models will sound a warning beep if you forget but best
to keep your oxy knob open (except when you light the torch of
course). |
Here's Ania trying it out!
Are you a convert yet Ania?
Of course us die hard hot head
users never completely abandon our trusty little torch, do we!?
Thank you Ania for your hospitality!
