The Bead Report

Beer N Beadz July, 2006

Cathy Camley Morning Star Creations and Glass

The Beer and Beads was held at Cathy Camley's house in North Delta.
It was a very hot day in July. Cathy set up the torches outside and with a few wind blockades some
great demos took place.

Tamara started out the day testing different types of clear rods. We all decided the Lauschan was the nicest. Vetrofond super clear was the runner up.

Here Tamara is waxing the mold, getting ready for pressing. This technique is adivised to help prevent the glass from dragging.

Tamara adds more glass to the mandrel.

Then she checks to see if it is enough glass to fill the mold.

Finished pressed jeweled bead.
Great job Tamara.

Heidi begins her demo on one of her Boro skaters.
First Heidi works on building the buttocks.

Lynne looks on in
amazment.

Building the legs of the skater.

Heidi puntys up the skater keeping the heat
moving over the thicker spots.

Finished legs and part of the body.
Thanks Heidi for the Boro demo.

Tamara demos a little gecko

Make a little round tab. Tamara used black for her's.

Add stringer for the tale and where you
want the body to be.

Make sure everything is heated but
not melted down.

Ahh he is so cute Tamara.
Such cute eyes.
