The Bead Report

Beer N Beadz June 2007

June's Beer n Beadz was held at Cathy and Don Camley's.
It was a great day in the studio and on the deck at Cathy and Don's beautiful home.

Kim was already on the torch when we arrived.

Kim was trying to make a hollow bead. She took her first class the next day at Sunlight Glass.

 Cathy's great studio.

Great ventilation and well organized studio Cathy.

 Jerry and Barb

The men choose to sit outside and talk. Don enjoys the conversation.

I am sure Paul is talking glass talk too.
Blowing perhaps, can anyone say Glory Hole.

Steve is enjoying the sunshine and the food.

We all sat outside to have a bite to eat.

There is always great food and lots of it at the
Beer n Beadz.

Aww, Grace. If you have not heard the story of Grace then ask Cathy about it the next time you see her.

Cathy had a great video on working with boro glass for us to watch.

Tamara watching the video while Melanie holds Grace.

Some people had to leave early so we then had the bead exchange.

Then taking our knowledge we learned from the video we went into the studio to try it out.

Tamara starts our combined efforts 'angel'

Tamara made the body, head and halo.

 Melanie watches Tamara work.

 Insurance heating is always good.

Melanie then had her turn on the angel, she is adding the wings here.

And a bit more to the wings.

Then it was Kerry's turn, she had to add the arms.

With Cathy's instruction Kerry got some arms on the angel.

Cathy then sat down to place the shepherds hook on the top of the angel

 Cathy works her magic.

Tamara sat down to finish the angel off, flattening the bottom.

Well they made it look so easy on the video. This poor little angel needs some help.We decided to share her amongst ourselves. Cathy gets her this Christmas.

We all would like to thank Cathy and Don for opening up their home and studio to us for yet another great Beer n Beadz.
