I started Enamelling “Glass on Copper” 25 years ago. I use glass powder, stringer and millefiori to create Flower Garden Scenes.
15 years ago I started Glass Fusing and love experimenting with the vivid colours and the reflective qualities of dichroic glass.

Glass is a wonderfully diverse medium for artistic expression. Its ability to be shaped and molded when hot and to reflect and separate light at normal temperatures makes it an excellent subject.
When I am making jewellery with precious metals and stone, I often include glass sculpture as a main feature.

JOANNE CARTER
FLAMINGO GLASS STUDIO

My love of glass began with stained glass, which I taught for over 20 years. After retiring, I discovered lampworking and I’ve been hooked ever since.

Using glass rods from around the world, I create each bead by hand in an open flame, then kiln-anneal them for strength and durability. I finish my designs with sterling silver, leather, silk, and accents like pearls, stones, and Swarovski crystals.

My home studio in South Surrey offers the perfect space to create and connect. Every piece is a small celebration of colour, fire, and joy.

TRUDY NICHOL
CRIMSON SWIRLZ

My love of glass and my eclectic collection led me to a studio in Mexico, where I took my first lampworking class. I fell in love with swirling molten glass into vibrant designs, and eventually added fusing and wire wrapping to my practice.
Back home, I turned my garage into a part-time studio and began creating beads and cabachons full of motion and colour.

The name Crimson Swirlz reflects the glowing red glass and the movement I love to capture in every piece.

BETTE GEDDES

My work explores the combination of glass and precious metals, in particular 24k gold and pure silver. This fascination has led me to experiment with vaporizing these metals and layering them in thin, almost invisible coats onto and into clear glass, creating a subtle complexity and ethereal beauty.

This is a celebration of the connection between nature’s most precious elements and the art of glassmaking.

MELANIE ROWE
ROWE GLASS

I have enjoyed the most incredible journey in glass for the past 50 years and I still look forward every day to seeing what beautiful glass art comes out of the kiln.

BARB FUKUSAKA
FLAMEBUOYANT GLASS
bfukusaka@gmail.com

For over 20 years, Barb has been captivated by the way glass plays with light and colour.

Working at the torch, she melts and shapes glass into vibrant, expressive designs, each one a reflection of her love for the medium and joy of creating something by hand.

IKUYO YAMANAKA

I began lampworking in Japan in 1975 and started participating in group and solo exhibitions in 1980. Over the years I have explored many forms of glass art including lampwork, accessories, art objects, tableware, and kiln work.

Since moving to Vancouver in 2003, I have focused primarily on creating soft glass beads from my studio in Coquitlam, BC. I continue to teach, share tutorials, and sell my work online, while still finding endless inspiration in the creative possibilities of glass.

MARIA KEATING
SAGE & SPRITE

Based in Crescent Beach, BC, Maria has spent over 20 years shaping whimsical forms from molten glass. An Environmental Educator, she draws inspiration from nature’s quiet detils, bringing colour, motion, and storytelling into every piece.

At Terminal City Glass Co-op, she shares her love of flameworking and beadmaking, nurturing creativity and community through the transformative magic of glass.

DEBBIE ARMSTRONG
MOLTEN GLASS CREATIONS
moltenglasscreations.ca

From my home studio in Port Coquitlam, I enjoy creating vibrant, one-of-a-kind glass beads and jewelry. Each piece celebrates colour, story, and the joy of something made by hand. Whether it’s a signature bracelet, a thoughtful gift, or a special bead, my work blends artistry with meaning.
